6E-AHF Horizontal froth pump

6E-AHF Horizontal Froth Pump Parts AHF Horizontal Froth Slurry Pumps are heavy duty horizontal pumps designed to handle difficult tenacious froth. Technologically improved AHF froth slurry pumps, which derive from the proven AHF series of horizontal slurry pumps, are being recognised as a significant advancement in the efficient handling of air entrained froth slurries. This innovative new development enables flotation plants to achieve improved froth transfer efficiencies with reduced concentrate spillages, as well as greater froth handling operation windows. There are notable differences between conventional AH slurry pumps, which are still currently installed on many froth transfer applications, and the next generation AHF forth pumps. For instance, the AHF features an open vane flow inducer froth pump impeller with a greatly enlarged cover plate pump inlet and matching throat bush liner. However, the volute, frame plate, gland assembly, bearing assembly and the pump base are interchangeable between both the AH slurry pump and the AHF froth slurry pump designs. Froth The problem of handling froth in some process circuits can be very frustrating. Froth often will air bind a pump. The froth inducer blade impeller is designed to solve this problem, through less surging and higher efficiencies from smaller pumps. Viscous Slurries An additional benefit of this froth impeller design and oversized inlet is that it raises the solids concentration limits that a centrifugal pump can handle. As the main problem of handling froth is similar to that of handling viscous slurries - namely, getting the slurry into the pump so it can be pumped - this pump has proven to be a high performer in dense media viscous slurries. Additionally, flow surging problems common to other centrifugal pump designs at low flows are eliminated for viscous slurries. Application The mining industry is a primary example where pumping operations can be plagued by froth and high viscosity problems. In the liberation of minerals from ore, the minerals are often floated through the use of strong flotation agents. Tough bubbles carry the copper, molybdenum or iron tails to be recovered and further processed. These tough bubbles create havoc with many slurry pumps, often leading to the selection of overly large and inefficient pumps. AHF froth pumps are small and efficient. The inducer impeller and oversized inlet very effectively enable the froth or viscous slurries to get into the impeller allowing the pump to transport it to the next destination. Low power costs, reliable operation, minimal surging, and feed tank overflow make AHF horizontal froth pumps user friendly.
